The Bond That Grew Over Three Years
Aries’s journey with Melissa Fickel started more than three years ago in Detroit. Melissa, who had been fostering animals for some time, decided it was time to have a permanent furry companion. Aries, with her loving and protective nature, quickly became more than just a pet; she became a family member. Melissa recalled the moment vividly, “I had the windows down because Aries likes to hang her head out, and as soon as there was that smack, she was out of the window almost instantaneously.”

Travis Ogden, the owner of the daycare, noticed Aries immediately. The daycare’s security cameras captured Aries arriving, visibly shaken but smart enough to seek refuge in a familiar place. “She was like, ‘this is where I go and this is where I stay.’ She just seemed like she knew what to do,” Ogden shared with local news station WXYZ Detroit.
