Meet Simon, The Star of the Show
When Stephanie Williams first saw Simon, she never imagined he would become irreplaceable to her. With his adorably striking eyebrows, Simon is the absolute star of the show!
His personality matches his eyebrows perfectly. “He has a huge personality and a huge heart,” Stephanie told Cuddle Buddies.

Simon arrived at his home in Minnesota in 2012 as a foster after his family returned him to the shelter. But before he found his forever home, Simon had a long journey ahead.
Simon and his littermates were saved by a Minnesota rescue just minutes before being euthanized by animal control. That’s when Stephanie stepped in.
Learning to Be a Dog

During his first few weeks with Stephanie, Simon didn’t even know how to behave like a dog. He was completely misbehaved and needed someone to teach him basic manners. That’s when Lily, Stephanie’s other dog, took charge.
Lily switched into her “big sister” mode and paved the way for Simon. He quickly picked up basic house manners and followed his sister in everything. “The relationship that Lily and Simon had was more of a big sister little brother. She was gonna watch out for him, protect him,” says Stephanie.
Despite being naturally mischievous with boundless energy, Simon adjusted to his new home with Lily’s help. The two became the best of friends!
Becoming a Foster Fail

Soon after, Stephanie decided that Simon would become a foster fail. Their story took a more positive turn!
“I was sitting on the couch and he jumped up next to me. He let out a heavy sigh and rested his head on my lap, and I knew, like, that was it. I’m not gonna give up on you,” Stephanie told The Dodo.
The Perfect Activity
Stephanie knew Simon was no ordinary Pittie, and his high energy needed to be properly addressed. She came up with something amazing!
One day, she took Simon to a local dock diving event just to see how he would respond. He found his ultimate hobby in the world!
Simon became obsessed with the pool and everything about it. During his first few training sessions, he could barely stay steady on the dock. But after a while, Simon picked up all the tips and started competing.
In a 40-foot-long pool, Simon’s personal record is 19 feet, 6 inches. He didn’t just run; he flew every time Stephanie threw a ball into the pool. Simon, with his unique appearance and sweetest smile, looked magnificent doing what he truly loves. As a bonus, he always came home happy and ready to shower his mom and sister with endless cuddles.
From Healing Wounds to a New Friendship

In 2020, Stephanie received the worst news possible. Her long-time companion and Simon’s best friend, Lily, was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the best treatment and care, Lily didn’t make it. She crossed the rainbow bridge in 2021, leaving the whole family in tears.
Simon was heartbroken and struggled with the loss of his sister for a long time. One day, his momma decided to take the first step toward healing.
Scrolling through social media, Stephanie saw a picture of Mabel. As soon as she saw it, she decided to give this new girl a chance, and she was right! It was like a sign from Lily saying, “Hey, little brother, now’s the time for the next challenge in your life!”

Simon welcomed his new sister with open paws, showing her the way just as Lily had shown him. “She definitely helped to cheer Simon up. She brought out the youth in him again. And now Simon shows the patience to Mabel that Lily showed to Simon. And they are such a pair,” says Stephanie.
Creating New Memories

Even though Simon is in his golden years, his new sister has helped him keep his zest for life. Around Mabel, he feels like a pup again, chasing new adventures and having the time of his life!
Mabel and Simon still have many memories to create together down the road. One thing is certain: Simon’s fashionable eyebrows, despite his age, will never go out of style!
