Take, for instance, the story of “Kisses,” a gorgeous and sweet Pittie. Kisses deserved a loving home but was instead abandoned by her owner at a fast-food restaurant. Scared and alone, she found refuge in a trash room, clinging to the hope that someone would rescue her and offer her a safe haven.
A Glimmer of Hope Behind the Trash
As Kisses crouched behind a dumpster, a good Samaritan noticed her plight and immediately called Hope For Paws, an animal rescue organization in Los Angeles. The rescue team, including JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock, rushed to the scene to save her.
When they arrived, they found Kisses lying in front of the trash room. As they approached, she retreated and hid behind the dumpster. The rescuers noticed her limping and the scars covering her body, evidence of a tough life. Kisses was then transferred to It’s The Pits Dog Rescue in San Diego. There, she awaited a foster home, a temporary place where she could feel loved and secure. At this time, Lori, a seasoned foster who had decided to take a break, came across Kisses’ rescue video. Instantly, Lori was captivated by her and decided to end her fostering break to take Kisses in.
When Lori and her family met Kisses for the first time, it was love at first sight. “Seeing her in person the first time, I just melted. She is just the cutest dog,” Lori expressed. Kisses quickly adjusted to her new home, showering her foster family with endless kisses and hugs.
A Bond That Grew Into Adoption
Kisses not only adapted well to her new environment but also flourished. She loved to engage in small, affectionate gestures like holding hands with her family members, often placing her paw gently into their hands.
