A Rescue on the Streets
Imagine walking down the street and seeing a dog, resembling a Pitbull, desperately trying to eat plastic. That’s exactly what happened to a woman named Loui. Instead of ignoring the plight of this suffering animal, she took immediate action.
The dog was in a dire state: emaciated and covered in tumors. It was clear that if someone didn’t step in soon, his chances of survival were slim.

“He was just eating plastic, and I noticed him out of the corner of my eye. I knew I had to do something,” Loui recounted to The Dodo.
Louie’s Journey to Recovery
The dog, later named Louie after his rescuer, was in horrific condition. At about eight years old, he was a shadow of what a dog his age should be. He had never known affection, care, or proper medical attention, which was heart-wrenching.
Once under the care of Bali Bully Rescue, Louie’s long road to recovery began. “This little boy will need lots of help,” the rescue noted in a Facebook post. His treatment plan was extensive: blood work, dental care, skin treatment, eye checks, tumor analysis, sterilization, vaccinations, and even x-rays for his limping legs.
Finding Love and a Forever Home
Louie’s new foster mom played a pivotal role in his transformation. She took him everywhere, giving him the love and attention he desperately needed. “One day, she sent me a video where she was feeding him with chopsticks. It was the cutest thing ever,” a rescue representative shared.
After only a month with his foster mom, Louie was almost unrecognizable. He became loving and adventurous, eager to make up for lost time. His health improved dramatically, and his personality blossomed, showing just how resilient and loving he could be.
Despite his previous suffering, Louie’s affection for people remained undiminished. “He is cute, sweet, and perfect. He needs a retirement home where he can live out his last years in peace and happiness,” the rescue expressed.
A Happy Ending
Louie’s story reached a joyful conclusion when he was adopted in September 2023. “LOUIE ❤ is ADOPTED 🎉🎉🎉 Our sweet boy went literally from the streets to the sheets,” celebrated the rescue on Instagram. Louie’s life transformed from surviving on the streets to thriving in a loving home, where he is cherished and cared for.
