Every dog owner knows deep down that their furry friend isn’t just another animal around the house—they’re a cherished member of the family. And it’s pretty clear that our dogs feel the same way about us!
Dogs share our emotions: they’re joyful when we’re joyous and down when we’re distressed. They crave our company, wanting nothing more than to be a part of our daily routines. That’s why it’s so tough on them when they have to be apart from us. In fact, such separations can lead them to become profoundly sad and may even lead to depression.
Tragically, this was the fate that befell two sweet sisters, Baby and Rosie, who faced a great loss but were about to find their luck turning around.
A Heartbreaking Turn of Events

Baby and Rosie are two elderly pit bulls who faced the immense sorrow of losing their owner to pancreatic cancer. In his last days, their owner entrusted a close friend with a significant responsibility. He asked her to ensure that his beloved dogs would find a new home where they could live out their days in happiness and comfort.
Determined to honor this last request, the friend reached out to Lisa Chiarelli, the founder of Frankie, Lola and Friends—a non-profit dog rescue organization based in Los Angeles, California. Lisa, moved by the story of these two loyal dogs, knew immediately that she had to do something special for them.
“Their world as they knew it was forever altered. Today, I’m going to meet Baby and Rosie and treat them to the perfect doggy day out!” Lisa told The Dodo with enthusiasm.
The Best Day Ever

On the day Lisa was set to pick them up, she half-expected the senior dogs to be less active, perhaps even a bit lethargic. But she was in for a surprise. Despite their age, Baby and Rosie were as spirited as young puppies, full of life and love.
Their adventure began at a local groomer’s for a well-deserved spa day. When it was Rosie’s turn to get bathed, Baby was restless, unwilling to leave her sister’s side. She kept jumping up to check on Rosie, a testament to the strong bond between the two. “You could really see the love they have for each other,” Lisa added. Rosie returned the favor, showing equal concern for Baby.

Once they were pampered and cleaned up at the spa, the next treat was in store—Puppuccinos! The sight of Lisa approaching with the delightful treat was enough to make their tails wag uncontrollably. The joy on their faces was unmistakable.
Their fabulous day concluded with some leisure time in a local park. “After spending the day with Baby and Rosie, I completely fell in love and understood how magical they are,” Lisa reminisced.
Finding a Forever Home

Inspired by their loving nature, Lisa was quick to arrange a temporary foster home for Baby and Rosie, giving her some time to find a family willing to adopt both sisters together. “Their hearts may have been broken once, but they still have so much love to give. They are going to make someone incredibly happy,” she said confidently.
It didn’t take long for a family to come forward, touched by the story of the two sisters. They expressed their eagerness to make Baby and Rosie a part of their lives, promising to provide them with a loving and fun-filled home.

Today, Baby and Rosie enjoy what can only be described as the perfect dog day every single day. They live in a warm, welcoming home, spending their time playing and receiving endless affection from humans who adore them. This story not only highlights the resilience and loving nature of dogs but also the beauty of compassionate humans who go the extra mile to ensure that even in their darkest times, these faithful companions find their light.
