Recounting the experience on Instagram, Harbison explained, “By pure chance, I came around the corner on my usual route and heard an ear-piercing scream.” Drawn by the urgency of the screams, he approached the area on his moped.
Discovering the Lonely Puppy
As he got closer, Harbison found a small, white puppy standing alone, clearly in distress and pleading for help. The puppy seemed lost and desperate, having likely been there for a while. Although she was frightened, it was evident she needed assistance.
Harbison approached carefully, noting, “I could feel her shaking and her little heart racing at a million beats a second.” Her continuous screams halted only when she realized Harbison was there to help, allowing her to finally relax.
A Family Reunion
This rescue, however, took an unexpected turn. As Harbison comforted the little puppy, he noticed movement in the nearby grass. Upon investigating, he discovered the puppy’s siblings hiding. Witnessing their brother receiving care and comfort, the other puppies quickly warmed up to Harbison.
He brought them back to his shelter, where they were given food and milk, as they were visibly malnourished and cold. Harbison described their recovery: “They were shaking with the cold and still very nervous for a few hours. They then got back to being puppies, causing mayhem by playing with each other, eating, drinking, and sleeping.”
Naming the Rescued Puppies
Harbison named the puppies Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney. Under his care, they regained their health and playful puppy spirits. The trio stayed at the shelter until they were strong enough and ready to find a permanent home.
