It’s not rare to see a stray dog alone on the streets these days. But it’s particularly sad when you see a beautiful white puppy, not just stray, but also tied to a pole on the side of the road.

This is the story of a young white Husky found in Santa Monica, California. Not only was he tied up, but he also faced daily harassment by some homeless people around him.

Despite these harsh conditions, the six-month-old Husky kept a smile on his face. He never lost hope that someday a kind person would come along and rescue him.

Rescued From The Streets

One beautiful morning, that hope turned into reality for the white Husky, who was named Buckley. Just where Buckley had faced his toughest times, a local rescuer happened to walk by.

She was shocked to see such a beautiful creature suffering and tied to a fence for so long. Without hesitating, she took immediate action, and soon, Buckley was in the caring hands of the experienced team at Love Leo Rescue. Everyone at the rescue was impressed by Buckley’s resilience and joyful spirit despite his ordeal.

“Buckley is an exceptional dog,” said Sasha Abelson, director of Love Leo Rescue, to The Dodo. “He is well-balanced, loving, and didn’t let his tough past affect his wonderful personality.”

The team showered him with love to help heal his wounds. Buckley responded with his positive energy, bringing smiles to everyone at the center.

Sadly, Buckley didn’t stay long at the rescue center because they quickly found him a foster home, where he could start a new chapter of his life.

On The Road To A New Life

When Angela heard about Buckley’s sad story, it touched her heart, and she decided to become his foster mom. They bonded instantly, and Buckley quickly adapted to his new life with his foster family. Having kept a smile even in his hardest times, this new life was like a little paradise for him.

“Buckley is a typical, happy-go-lucky husky,” Abelson commented. “He loves playing with other dogs and learning new things. He enjoys hiking and cuddling close to his humans. He’s just the perfect family dog.”

Buckley also did something wonderful for his foster mom. He became a real balm for her wounded soul.

“Buckley is such a great dog! He’s our foster who has helped me in my recovery from PTSD. He needs to be active and follow a routine…which turns out is exactly what I need too,” Angela shared in an Instagram post.

Despite all the joy Buckley brought, he was still waiting for his forever home—a home that would be active and ideally have another playful, well-balanced dog.

Considering the true beauty inside and out that Buckley radiates, it shouldn’t be long before he finds his forever home, where he can experience true happiness.
