Every puppy in this world deserves to be cherished and loved as they truly should be. As pet owners, we go out of our way to provide our furry friends with the best life they can have. Waking up to their joyful smiles is undoubtedly the highlight of our day.
It’s a dream that every dog would have an owner who deeply cares about their happiness and well-being. However, it’s heartbreaking that many dogs end up disappointed and abandoned by those who are supposed to be their most steadfast guardians—their owners.
Today’s narrative centers on Mica, a delightful dog who was cruelly abandoned, left alone on a blanket in a ditch. Cold and hungry, she curled up, hoping that someone would notice her plight and come to her rescue.
Finding and Rescuing Mica
Diana, a dedicated animal lover and rescuer, happened upon this abandoned puppy shivering in fear in the ditch. Her heart broke seeing Mica in such a state. She began to talk to her, blowing kisses and reassuring her that things would get better soon.
Diana knew she had to approach Mica slowly and with great care to avoid frightening her further. Successfully, she managed to secure Mica with a leash.
Once safely leashed, Diana gently lifted Mica and carried her to her car. The scared puppy buried her face in Diana’s arms, still trembling. Diana stroked her softly, providing comfort and assuring safety.
Diana reached out to her friend, Samantha Dix, a seasoned dog rescuer and founder of “Street Life To The Sweet Life.” Samantha immediately agreed to foster Mica. Samantha and her husband George are associated with Lola’s Lucky Day, a non-profit organization that rescues animals in Houston and Dallas, Texas.
A Loving Foster Home
When Samantha first laid eyes on Mica, her heart melted. Mica’s beautiful brindle coat and charming white “socks” captivated her instantly. First things first, Samantha gave Mica a much-needed bath, helping her feel fresh and a bit more relaxed.
Understanding that Mica was still quite frightened, her foster parents allowed her some time to unwind before introducing her to their other dogs.
Initially, Mica was a bit shy. Her foster parents patiently stroked her and enveloped her in their love. Gradually, Mica began to revel in their affection and warmth, responding with the cutest kisses and showing immense gratitude for the comfort of a loving home.
Mica showed her happiness in the most endearing ways. “She would just dance really fast in front of you. Her whole body wiggles. She definitely let you know when she was happy, which was all the time,” Samantha shared with a smile.
One of her favorite activities became carrying her foster parents’ shoes in her mouth, rearranging them to her liking, much to the amusement of everyone.
Mica Gets Her Happy Ending
After three loving weeks with Samantha and George, Mica, now affectionately renamed Ewa, was ready to move to her forever home.
Ruff Start Rescue, a partner of Lola’s Lucky Day, found her a perfect family in Minnesota. Ewa’s biggest dream of a loving family became a reality. She has never been happier, turning into the biggest cuddle bug. Her new family adores her deeply, and she couldn’t be more loved.
We are overjoyed that Ewa received the happy ending she always deserved.
Unfortunately, many abandoned and stray animals are still out there, needing our help. These innocent creatures rely on us to make a difference in their lives.
