Kaitlyn, a dedicated rescuer from Adams County Pet Rescue in Othello, Washington, sprang into action immediately!
She knew right away that the sounds weren’t human. However, she couldn’t determine who or what was making the noise until she took a look under her own car.
A Shocking Discovery
It was already 11 P.M. and Kaitlyn was on her way home after letting her dogs out to potty before bed. That’s when she heard the heartbreaking sounds coming from under her car.
When she finally took a closer look, she was stopped in her tracks by something extraordinary. Lying in the dark, with two sparkling, fearful eyes peeking out at her, was a dog. The poor creature was so petrified that she hid under the vehicle, hoping not to be found.

Kaitlyn never imagined that this rescue would be anything but ordinary. Instead of slowly approaching the dog and calling it a day, things escalated quickly.
“The pup darted out from under the car with Kaitlyn running right behind it. She needed to make quick decisions so it didn’t disappear into the night,” the rescue organization explained.
The Chase Begins
Luckily, the pup didn’t wander into the fields but instead made a few circles around Kaitlyn’s house. She was clearly scared and traumatized, yet she refused to leave this new “fenced refuge” of hers.
During the rescue, Kaitlyn lost her sandals and kept running barefoot. Soon, she gathered a small crew to help her corner the puppy safely, which ultimately led to a successful rescue. The rescue team intervened just in time.

“When Kaitlyn calls at 11 P.M., I always know it’s something interesting and I better answer. When she’s breathless, I know it’s going to be exciting, and of course, it was,” the rescue organization shared on Facebook.
The dog was safely transferred to the facility, where she received further care.
Primavera’s New Beginning
Despite her previous trauma, the dog, named Primavera, quickly came out of her shell! Thanks to the massive efforts of the Adams County Pet Rescue (ACPR), she soon found a temporary foster home. There, she blossomed into a brand-new dog.
Together with her foster mom, Tammy, Primavera is learning what life is all about. She’s no longer scared but has become a sociable, friendly dog who loves meeting new people.

Tammy made sure to teach Primavera all about being loved to the fullest, and Primavera reciprocates this love. Aside from chasing balls and carrying her toys around, the one thing she loves most is being around people.
“She loves chasing balls, chew toys, carrying her stuffies around, and hanging out in the backyard. She’s very social now and wants to be where the people are,” the ACPR team wrote on Facebook.
Primavera is still learning, but there’s no doubt that she will make an excellent companion. When the time is right, she’ll be ready to join a forever family, eager to chase new adventures and meet new people.
