One day, Maple left the vet with the cutest wrap ever. Instead of her regular bandages, Maple was adorned with a customized, butterfly-like costume with little hearts on top of her bandages.
“She walked out so proud, her head held high instead of down low, and her tail up,” Randi told The Dodo.
The difference was remarkable. Maple suddenly seemed like a brand-new dog, transforming from a “poor baby” to a “fashionable girl.”
Zach loved Maple’s new look. She looked so sweet and enthusiastic that it seemed like she was indeed going to take off like a beautiful butterfly.
Finding a Forever Home
Rocky Kanaka, a dog lover who helps shelter dogs share their stories so they can be seen, also played a significant role in Maple’s amazing journey. Collaborating with Zach and the team, he offered to share Maple’s story on his show to help her find a forever home.
“Crazy to think she was under a bridge with no hope, and now she is on a Hollywood studio lot in front of the American Dream home,” Rocky wrote on his Facebook page.
Soon enough, this wonderful Pit Bull met Justine, a woman from Reno, Nevada, who provided Maple with a forever home.

Maple has now completely recovered and no longer needs bandages. However, her butterfly costume will always be remembered as the day she took the first step toward her full recovery.
She enjoys her new life with her other dog siblings and embarks on new adventures daily.
