For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been surrounded by dogs. Among all the dogs I’ve met, therapy dogs hold a special place in my heart for their immense empathy and sweetness. These remarkable dogs are trained to offer comfort not only to humans but often extend their kindness to other animals as well.

A Therapy Dog’s Unexpected Discovery
Let me share an inspiring story about a therapy dog who stumbled upon an unexpected find during a routine walk in the woods, much to his owner’s surprise.
Banner: A Dog with a Heart of Gold
Banner, a devoted therapy dog from Georgia, has spent his life assisting those in dire need of comfort, particularly his owner, Whitney Braley.
Whitney, who struggles with PTSD and anxiety attacks, found a soulmate in Banner, a dog whose presence brought immense solace and companionship.
One day, while exploring the woods close to his home, Banner came across something odd. He quickly returned to Whitney, seemingly urging her to follow him.
Together, they ventured deeper into the woods, where Banner led her to a sealed plastic box that appeared to contain something living.
A Heartwarming Rescue
Inside the box, Whitney was astonished to find seven newborn kittens, abandoned and trapped. Knowing she couldn’t leave them there, Whitney and Banner brought the kittens home, where they lovingly nursed them back to health. Banner took on a parental role, diligently watching over the kittens to ensure their well-being.
After some time, the kittens were healthy enough to start new chapters in their lives. Realizing the need for a more stable environment for them, Whitney decided it was time to find them adoptive homes throughout Georgia.
While it’s unclear exactly where each kitten ended up, it’s comforting to think that they all found loving families, thanks to the heroic efforts of Banner and Whitney.
