It’s truly heartbreaking to come across a group of abandoned dogs on the street. These poor pups are often left to fend for themselves, lacking even the most basic necessities.

Waiting for Their Loved Ones to Come Back Home

In Southern California, a sad tale unfolded when a trio of puppies was discovered abandoned near Magic Johnson Park in Los Angeles. They were found clinging to each other on the sidewalk, unwilling to move from the place where they last saw their family.

It looked like there was no hope for them until a wonderful group of rescuers got involved after hearing about the puppies’ plight.

Local Concern Leads to Rescue Effort

Locals noticed these three dogs—a female and her two male siblings—huddled together, seemingly waiting for the return of their family who heartlessly abandoned them and drove away. Despite waiting for the car to come back, it never did. As the day got hotter, the puppies took refuge under a nearby car, sticking close to one another for comfort.

Logan’s Legacy Team To The Rescue

Suzette Hall from Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization based in Irvine, California, was contacted by concerned neighbors about a situation involving abandoned puppies. However, she was unable to go to the location herself at that time. Instead, she dispatched two colleagues who located the puppies exactly where they had been reported.

Upon arrival, they found the puppies in dire condition, suffering from severe tick infestations and with fur so matted that it hindered their movement. The situation was urgent as the puppies required immediate care.

Suzette detailed the harrowing condition of the puppies in a post on her Facebook page, describing them as “Dumped at a park together. Covered in ticks, matted so bad they couldn’t even poop, and tons of creepy-crawling ticks. They stayed right where they were left, and stuck together.”

Rescue Team Springs into Action

Unable to make the trip herself, Suzette Hall from Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization in Irvine, California, sent two of her team members to help. They found the puppies exactly where they were reported to be, in dire shape covered in ticks and with badly matted fur.

Suzette described their condition on her Facebook page: “Dumped at a park together, covered in ticks, and so badly matted they couldn’t even relieve themselves properly. They stayed right where they were left, sticking together through it all.”

Fortunately, the rescue effort that day didn’t require a trap. The female dog approached the rescuers when offered food, and her brothers followed. Suzette Hall expressed relief and determination: “These sweet babies will never have to wait again. They are rescued.”

Recovery and Hope for Adoption

Once safely at a volunteer’s home, the dogs underwent a two-hour grooming session to remove the ticks and matting, which significantly improved their condition. They were named Damien, Polly, and Barkley.

Even after being rescued, the trio continued to stick together, showcasing a remarkable bond not often seen. Suzette is hopeful that they will be adopted together, maintaining their close connection.

For now, they continue to support and protect each other, just as they did on the streets, waiting for a loving forever home where they can stay together.
