When Scot’s dad retired and moved to Oregon, he decided to get a beautiful Husky named Jackson as a farm animal. This decision brought joy and companionship to his new life in Oregon.

A Heartbreaking Loss

Unfortunately, Scot’s father passed away unexpectedly, leaving the family in a dilemma about what to do with Jackson. Losing his father was hard enough, but now they had to decide the fate of the loyal Husky who had been his dad’s companion.

Scot couldn’t bear the thought of losing Jackson too, so he decided to bring the dog to Los Angeles, California, to live with him. Despite not being fully prepared for a pet, Scot and his wife chose to take Jackson in and see how things would go.

Building a Bond

Even though Scot and his wife were initially hesitant, they soon realized they had made the right choice. “I’ve never had this type of bond with any dog. My wife spends way more time with him, and I don’t know what it is, but he just loves me,” said Scot. Jackson loves his mom as well, but he particularly enjoys messing with her more than anyone else.

Jackson’s Dramatic Side

Jackson isn’t just a handsome dog; he’s also quite the drama king. No matter the situation, he does whatever it takes to be the center of attention. He barks at his owners and even at inanimate objects like fruit and vegetables. He talks, yells, and throws tantrums almost daily, ensuring he’s always noticed.

Silly Habits

One of Jackson’s amusing habits is backing his legs up onto the couch so only his front legs stick out and touch the ground. If these antics don’t get the attention he craves, he resorts to pawing at the carpet. Scot doesn’t understand why Jackson does this, but it’s clear that the dog loves it.

Ice, Ice, Baby

Despite all his quirks, Jackson has one favorite thing in the world besides his family: ice. Whenever they get ice from the fridge, Jackson comes running, eager for a piece. They even fill up a pool with a hundred pounds of ice for him to play in, and he has the time of his life eating all the ice.

Coping with Loss

Recently, Jackson and his family faced another loss when their Miniature Pinscher, Boba, passed away. Boba had been Scot’s wife’s dog for sixteen years. Jackson misses his sister dearly, often waiting by her bowl or for her before going downstairs, just like he used to when she was alive. Now, he finds comfort in a miniature pillow with Boba’s picture on it, pretending she is still by his side.

The Final Word

Jackson has been a blessing to Scot and his family. Not only do they have a loving and beautiful dog, but they also have a personal entertainer who ensures that every day is filled with laughter and fun. Jackson’s presence has brought joy and comfort to their lives, proving that sometimes the best things come when we least expect them.
