Tied up and abandoned in Houston, he was discovered severely underweight and malnourished, barely surviving by scavenging whatever scraps he could find. His plight led him to a local animal shelter, where, due to his medical complications, he was quickly listed for euthanasia.
A Turn of Fate
However, fate had different plans for Beasley. Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue from North Carolina heard about his dire situation and decided to intervene. They rescued him from the imminent threat of euthanasia and provided him with a foster home where he could recover and prepare for a brighter future. Beasley had several health issues to overcome, including bullet fragments in his hind legs and severe dental problems caused by his desperate attempts to eat garbage.

The Healing Power of Love
His road to recovery was long, but Beasley was a fighter. Under the care of the rescue and his foster family, he slowly regained his health. As he healed, his sweet and resilient spirit began to shine through. Once he was healthy enough, Beasley was put up for adoption. That’s when Cory, who was already a member of the Dizzy Dog family, having previously adopted another rescue dog, Roman, saw Beasley’s picture. Despite initially receiving a ‘no’ from her partner Andrew, Cory was smitten and determined to welcome Beasley into their home.

New Beginnings
Eventually, Andrew was persuaded, and Beasley was adopted into their loving home in Portland. From the moment Beasley and his new family met, it was clear he was meant to be with them. His tail wouldn’t stop wagging, and he eagerly jumped into the car, ready to start his new life. Beasley’s integration into the family was seamless, thanks to his amiable and easy-going nature.

A Dog’s Life, Well-Lived
Now, Beasley lives a life filled with love and comfort. He weighs around 50 pounds and has a larger-than-life presence in photos. He enjoys playing with his favorite toys and holding hands with his humans. Beasley’s favorite pastimes include going for walks, taking naps, and, of course, cuddling. He’s described by the Dizzy Dog rescue as friendly to everyone he meets, possessing a gentle energy that endears him to all.
