Snuggling with their parents and feeling loved is what all dogs long for. It is how they picture happiness.
Dogs dream of nothing more than snuggling up with their humans and soaking in all the love they can get. It’s their version of pure bliss.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of abandoned pups who end up robbed of the love that all dogs deserve. Instead of beaming with happiness, the dogs’ eyes tell stories of sadness in their hearts.
Sadly, too many dogs are left behind and miss out on the affection every dog deserves. You can see the sadness written all over their faces—it’s heartbreaking.
Explorer’s eyes spoke of his hurt feelings and his sorrow after he found himself tied to a crate and dumped at a park.
One little dog, later named Explorer, had eyes filled with pain and sorrow after he was cruelly tied to a crate and abandoned in a park.
The precious dog was left confused, and he kept looking at the ground with a dejected look on his face.
This poor pup was left feeling utterly lost and confused, staring down at the ground as if looking for answers.
A Heartbreaking Scene
Imagine stumbling upon a scene like this: a tiny dog, all alone, tied up to a crate at the park entrance. That’s exactly what happened to Tiffany Maki, a seasoned dog rescuer.
Once she noticed that the dog was all alone and tied to a folded crate, Maki felt saddened.
Tiffany’s heart sank when she realized the dog was abandoned there all by himself, tied to a crate that lay folded on the grass.
Since he wasn’t there when she arrived, Maki realized that the pooch was dumped while she and her canines were playing in the park.
It became clear to Tiffany that someone had dumped the poor dog there while she was busy playing elsewhere in the park with her own dogs.
The pup, later named Explorer, seemed extremely distrustful, and he kept barking at the passers-by.
Explorer was understandably wary and scared, barking at anyone who walked by as if pleading for understanding but too frightened to trust.
The experienced rescuer was aware that the doggo was overwhelmed with fear and that he had no intention of hurting anybody.
Tiffany knew that Explorer’s actions were out of fear, not aggression. He didn’t want to hurt anyone; he was just terrified and trying to protect himself.
Explorer was only a sad and confused boi who didn’t know what was going on.
Poor Explorer was just a sad, confused little boy, unsure of why his world had suddenly turned upside down.
Explorer’s Luck Changes
“As I would walk closer, he would bark and lunge at me to make me keep my distance. I knew no one else probably would have tried to grab him for fear of being bitten,” Maki told The Dodo.
Tiffany recounted how Explorer would bark and lunge at her as she approached, a clear sign he wanted her to stay back. Most people would be too scared to try and help him, fearing a bite.
Maki made up her mind to help him.
But Tiffany was determined to help. She decided she couldn’t leave him there all alone and scared.
She stayed by his side and talked to him until she succeeded in winning him over.
She stayed right there beside him, speaking gently, until slowly, Explorer began to see she was a friend.
Explorer realized that his rescuer was there to help him, and he let her put a leash over his neck.
Eventually, Explorer understood that Tiffany was there to help, and he allowed her to slip a leash over his neck.
Maki took him home, and she was delighted to witness his transformation into an adorable boi.
Back at her home, Tiffany was thrilled to see Explorer start to transform. He became more affectionate, his tail wagging, his eyes beginning to hold a glimmer of hope.
Explorer let her caress him, and his eyes radiated with hope and gratitude. He took in all her affection and cuddles.
Explorer soaked up all the affection Tiffany gave him. He loved the cuddles and petting, and his eyes shone with hope and thanks for the new chance at life he was being given.
“After getting home, [he] was the SWEETEST dog and SO well trained. He was crate and potty trained, [and] he knew how to sit, shake, lay down, roll over, beg and heel. Someone loved him at some point,” Maki added.
Tiffany discovered that Explorer was incredibly well-trained. He knew all his basic commands and was both crate and potty trained. It was clear that, at some point, someone had loved him deeply.
Maki reached out to the rescuers, and she succeeded in finding a placement for Explorer at Schnauzer Rescue of Texas, located in Houston.
Tiffany didn’t stop there; she reached out to her network and successfully secured a spot for Explorer at the Schnauzer Rescue of Texas in Houston.
After the pooch spent the night in her home, Maki drove him to the rescue’s vet. Explorer received his vaccines.
The next step was getting Explorer checked and vaccinated, so after a night at Tiffany’s home, she took him to the vet associated with the rescue.
He moved to his foster home in Woodlands, Texas, where he received a ton of love.
Explorer then moved on to a foster home in Woodlands, Texas, where he was showered with all the love and care he deserved.
The loving doggo started his search for his forever home.
Now in a safe and loving environment, Explorer began the next chapter of his life—searching for a forever home.
Before long, Explorer found a great family who couldn’t wait to cover him in kisses and cherish him forever.
It didn’t take long for Explorer to find the perfect family, eager to give him all the kisses and love he could ever want.
The delightful pup feels safe and happy in his new home. He savors all the love his new family gives him.
Explorer now lives happily in his new home, feeling safe and cherished, basking in the love of his new family, a far cry from the frightened, lonely dog tied to a crate in the park.
